Where timeless toys, thoughtful play, and a little bit of magic come together.

The Enchanted Boxcar began with a simple idea: childhood deserves room for imagination.

Nestled inside a beautifully restored early-20th-century railroad boxcar in the heart of Corrales, New Mexico, and convenient to Rio Rancho and Albuquerque's West side. Our shop gives an old piece of history a new purpose—a place where children can explore, imagine, create, and play.

As a woman-owned small business, The Enchanted Boxcar is built around a love for childhood and a belief that the toys we bring into our homes matter. We thoughtfully curate toys and gifts that encourage open-ended play, creativity, storytelling, curiosity, and connection. We favor beautiful, well-made pieces with lasting play value—the kinds of toys children return to again and again, and that families may even pass down to the next generation.

Our shelves are intentionally different from the typical toy aisle. You'll find heirloom-quality wooden toys, imaginative playsets, dolls and animals, creative materials, keepsakes, and other treasures chosen not because they flash, beep, or tell a child how to play, but because they leave room for children to decide what happens next.

A Community of Like-Minded Makers

The Enchanted Boxcar is also about the people behind the toys.

We seek out and partner with like-minded makers, artists, independent brands, and small businesses who share our appreciation for thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, responsible materials, and meaningful play. By bringing these special products together in one place, we hope to make distinctive, enduring toys more accessible to families in Corrales, Rio Rancho, Albuquerque, and beyond.

In doing so, we're building more than a toy store. We're creating a community around a shared belief that childhood doesn't need more noise—it needs more wonder.

And we can't imagine a better home for that idea than an old railroad boxcar, lovingly restored for a new generation of adventures.

Thoughtful toys. Timeless play. A little everyday enchantment.

Welcome to The Enchanted Boxcar.
